This article presumes you have successfully installed a compatible PosiTrace GPS device and have also installed a 5-pin Automotive relay for the Immobilizer operation. You must also have the Immobilizer feature set up on your subscription.

Where to access Immobilizer
You can access the Arm or Disarm function for your immobilizer-enabled GPS device in a couple of places:
- From the Live Map equipment pop-up:
- From the Menu: Account > Immobilizer
- From the Equipment Details page:
- From the PosiTrace Mobile Application
How to Arm / Disarm
Clicking Arm (or Disarm) will prompt you to enter your Immobilizer Password:
Account > Immobilizer
The Arming status entry will be created that is listed as In Progress
It can take up to 5 minutes to deliver an immobilizer command in ideal circumstances (good cellular connectivity). Please do not try to click the button further until this status changes. |
This status will automatically update to Armed / Completed, though if you suspect it has been too long and you have not seen it update, please try refreshing your screen.
Equipment Details screen
If you are operating the immobilizer form the Equipment screen in specific, you will see this in-progress option as "Disarming" or "Arming" and it will automatically
Notes
Ignition status
The immobilizer status should only be changed while the ignition is off.
- If you try to arm or disarm while the ignition is on, it will give a warning.
- However, even if you proceed with the command, with most device types and features, an Arm command cannot be delivered with the ignition on, and the Arm will stay "in progress" indefinitely until the ignition is turned off.
Device Offline
In the event the device is Offline, you will also be given a warning.

If your device does not fall into the Device Offline or Ignition On categories above, and the immobilizer process is still stuck in-progress, please connect with our support team for assistance.
